Walking

Northumberland is a haven for walkers of all abilities. Set within the National Park, there is mile after mile of well marked routes literally right outside the front door. Head into the Cheviot Hills for some really spectacular scenery.

Riding

The area of Redesdale is criss-crossed by historic bridleways making it an ideal location to get away from it all and experience the outdoors on the back of a horse. There are numerous riding schools nearby which provide both horses and equipment for hire.

Cycling

For both road and mountain bike enthusiasts, we provide a great stop off point or base from which to explore. The nearby Kielder Forest trails have recently opened and provide some of the finest single track riding in the country.

Sailing

Kielder Water is northern Europe’s largest man made lake – and is home to several sailing clubs where boats and tuition can be hired. For the more adventurous there is water skiing, and a ski-jump!
